It’s a resistor that tricks your PCM (computer) into thinking that the air temperature is colder than it actually is. This tricks the PCM into advancing the timing and changing the Air/Fuel ratio. it's crap. not a real chip. don't buy it. Sick

Sick is right
I saw somting like that and in the pic it was a resister. You bid on a radio shack $0.10 piece and he charged 4 or 5 bucks to ship it in an envelope with a .39 stamp.
If you want to try, check the resistance of your air temp sensor at cold and get a resistor the same value and stick it in the plug. But be warned. this persons feedback had complaints of fires and such.

well there should still be one somewhere. When you unplug stuff like that a check engine light would come on.

Well http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...m_9.202000.htm That will help answer your questiosn and even give you the Ohms for the resistance if you want to go to radio shack and buy a much much cheaper one. The air temp sensor, if it gets unplugged most of the time will not trigger the MIL.

Well I know when I have forgotten to plug mine back in when I reinstall the air cleaner because it triggers a light. The computer sees it as an open circuit.
