Default thinking of buying not sure

i looked at a 91 camero rs ? any how it has a V6 not a TBI no idea what size it is seen where they say it's a 2.8 and a 3.1 or 2 it's an auto trans with OD it has 179.000 in it. oil pressure gauge not working the rest of them do. for some reason he has one of the alt. wires going to the coil ?? and the heater fan is rewired to the fuse box ?abd battery will go dead after sitting a few days im not sure to get it or not. wants to swap my 92 gmc 1/2 ton pick up with a 4.3 and 306.000 miles on it. mine uses about a qt oil every 1.600 miles. but got a ton of miles on it , he wants it to haul a ATV. how good are the smaller v6's ? that a 700R trans ? had a lot of pick up to the engine has a cold air pipe and a k&n type filter and a flow master muffler on it. .i have not owned a car in 30 some yrs only trucks whats your thoughts paint is bad on top 1/2 clear coat peeling faded.

The owner might not exactly be an electrical genius. If he has the hot wire from the alternator powering the coil, then the coil is getting constant power and that's why the battery is going dead. The overheated coil, or an ignition module will be the next thing to die.
