i was looking into converting my tbi 305 in my 89' to tpi i was looking on ebay and it doesnt seem to cost all that much but i wasnt sure wat i all need im assuming the manifold, harness. injectors.......... ?

 

You will need the computer, manifold, injectors, wiring harness, TPI fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel pressure reg, fuel rails, etc. The really bad part, is that the conversion will not give much if any power gain on a 305 engine.

 

i have a tpi for sale; upper plenum, lower plenum, runners,injectors w/fuel rails. i can let it go for $150 just because the manifold needs to be cleaned hes 100k on it. i also have a distrubuter for sale that works with the tpi system w/ less than 100 miles on it. i have pics of both let me know if interested

 

yea i wouldn't waste all ur time working on that 305 just save up and buy a 350 hell just stroke that 350 then too lol

I do understand that the hp gain will not be that great, but i am looking for driveability, throttle response, potential to modify, and mileage in swapping my 91 TBI to Tuned Port. Is there a kit or something on ebay, etc. that I can buy to make this easier, because it will be a pretty heavy project according to what I've heard. Also what is the difference between Mass Air and Speed Density, and which is better for an application like mine. And will a complete used TPI unit that was origionally on a 350 work on a 305.
