305 heads on a 350 are actually a pretty good thing they will bump up your compression ratio

the only thing you need to find out is the combustion chamber size. anything more than 58cc is too large for a 305 unless you have dome style pistons then you need to find out the dome volume. for instance if you had 2cc dome pistons you could go with 60cc combustion chambers and still have 9.5 to1 compression. if they are larger combustion chambers it would be worth your money to have them shaved. vortec heads flow really well. so there IS actually a gain from using 305 heads huh? sweet. They are used, but fairly new heads, wont have but 15k on them by the time i buy them, but while they are out ill have them checked for standard wear and tear.

it's a double edged swordtho ... smaller combustion chamber means higher compression ... smaller valves and smaller runners equal less flow. the higher compression and smaller valves and runners will create alot of torque. need to find out the valve size. if they are actually 305 heads the biggest valves you gonna be able to use are 1.94 unless you havesome work done on them. since the combustion chambers are so small they will shroud the valves and hinder flow. you can port the combustion chamber just a bit and use 2.02 valves but ... it has to be done very carefully. i'm working on a set of 305 heads now doing that very thing. Save your money. You dont want to get in so deep you have to tell the old lady to hold off giving birth for a while until you can afford it again. And you never know whats going to come up afterwards.

thats what im doing mike, im MAINLY saveing money. I probably wont end up doing any of this for another year or more. I just like to plan in advance. But everybody needs to just unwind sometimes, cant JUST work 50+ hours a week, come home, eat and then sleep. I am still only 19, i need to have some sort of mental stimulation. And it comes from my car. It kinda, keeps me from "blowin a gasket" if ya know whati mean.

Well, when you DO get this all done, spend an extra hundred bucks and get some flow matched injectors, as they can make a good bit of improvement over the stock ones by delivering equal amounts of fuel to each side of the engine.[/align]
