Default swapping rear ends

I just picked up an 89 iroc and need to change the differential. What years are compatible with the 89, meaning that will bolt right in? It has rear disc brakes. There are several Camaros in the junkyard near me but they vary in years ranging from early eighties to ninety four. Anyone know the answer? Thanks

the 93 up rear uses different parking brake setup, if its 4 wheel disc. its also 4 inches wider. anything 82-92 will bolt in if you are replacing the entire rear. for other rears, i believe it was 86 that went from 26 to 28 spline axles. so anything 86-92 will be fine. i also think internally they will swap up to 02

Anything form 82-02 will bolt in but 93-02 rears will stick out about two inches on each side. Axles were 26 spline from 82-89 and 28 from 90-92. Are you swapping the entire rear or just the internals?
