ok so i have noticed that for awhile now my check engine light comes on for 15 or 20 seconds and then turns off. Its getting more often now that its cooling down. Ive noticed it kinda studders a little bit when its cold and im accelerating. Thats when the light comes on for that matter, when i accelerate from a dead stop most of the time. I dont know whats up. Any ideas?

 

I had a problem similar to that, and it was the cold air intake sensor. Don't know if this helps but its a start. There like 3 bucks at autozone.

 

That is a common problem and it could be also the O2 sensors starting to go bad. how many miles do you have on your camaro? Have you ever had a tune up?

 

ya think so? its got over 200000 on it, but the motor itself only has about 10000 now. I guess i could go ahead and replace the O2 sensor and the Cold air intake... cheap enough and relativly easy.

 

Yeah same here.....my light was coming on and the engine studdered really bad....but I got the o2 sensor replaced and it runs fine now.

 

right on, i went out and bought one tonight, ill install it tomorrow. I think i may take on the task of replaceing my Heater Core tomorrow as well...... we will see... I priced it around here, the CHEAPEST place i found to do it was 650... all the way up to 1200 bucks. THATS SICK! so im gona try and do it myself.

 

Have you tried to see what code was stored? You can jumper two wires on the ALDL and the light will flash the code for you.

 

no i havent tried that, i didnt know i could... where is that and how does one go about doing that?

ah thanks man, ill give that a try this weekend. i replaced the air intake sensor and the O2 sensor, still turning on... so i guess whatever that code is, ill fix it... hopefully its cheap...
