Default Strange noise from rear end

Ok well I finally got the time to finish up the Camaro today. I gio her running and driving but there is a strange noise from the rear end like a spring or somthing. Could I have messed somthing up when I took out my motor? Maybe the other end of the torque arm is disconnected or somthing?? Please help I want to start driving it again.

No ones a noise expect on the internet. You have to get the car on a lift and check for anything loose for starters.

Im simply asking for what might have caused this because I have heard when disconnecting the torque arm can mess the rear springs up. I dont want to drive the car and break somthing worse.

It's possible something may have moved during the installation of the motor, I'd check everything in the back. if at all possible, you could try jacking up the back of the car, and have someone get it up to the speed at which it makes the noise, so if it's coming from the differential you can tell. If nothing it's prolly suspension somewhere... gotta love weird noises, right?

I wanted to come in and say u farted (come on. noise from rear end? anyone? fine...... )

check your suspension out. I had a springing type noise once when my sway bar came loose on one side. i cant think of too many other things that will make a noise like that

I once read a post somewhere were someone was complaining that there fbird was making a wierd noise when they jacked it up in the air and ran it. Supposedly rear when make a ticking noise due to the play in the gears when not placed under a load. Like when it is moving on the ground. So expect this if your going to jack the car up and drive the wheels in the air.

i think what u are describing is driveline lash, which can become a very obvious "popping" sound, or "click" every time you let off or get on the gas. may be accompanied by a jerking feeling. gets worse when the DS is loose

Well you might never believe this!!! my $250 dollar Eibach springs are bent in half!!! Somehow they came unseated and the weight of the car bent them in half.. Now I work at a garage and have seen broken springs and warped springs but never bent in half!!!

Ouch man, that is harsh. What did you think about the springs, like besides that fact that they bent in half. Were they the sportline lowering ones?

Now I wonder, why did this old line pop into my head? "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play."
