Default stepping up the hp of my 89 need help.

I have a 89 Camaro RS. I got some subframe connectors from BMR along with a wonder bar. I also would like to get a strut tower brace. my camaro has a 305TBI and the only manufacturer i see who makes a brace is Elderbrock. Mac Performance informed me that their brace would fit that I would just maybe have to change the air cleaner. My plans are to soon put a 355 carb motor in it. does anyone know of anyone who makes a brace to fit a carb motor. Second question is that i am looking at a motor making around 400hp. I have a 7.5in 10bolt from the factory. Ive been told two things. One that i need to get a 9in ford rearend and the other that i have heard is that as long as i rebuild the 10bolt i have with new stronger axles and gears along with one of the rear covers that keeps from having any bearing movement or from the rearend distorting under a load that I would be find. with which ever i would decide to go with i would be putting 3.73 gears in it with a limited slip. this is not going to be a drag car. I will be running only street tires. Just gonna be a car to run on the street and have fun with. i will stiffen up the suspension on it to help it grip as far as swapping the torque arm, lower control arms and panhard rod. any suggestions. thanks nick

if you are not launching the car, the 10 bolt will handle that power (see signature). i am running 255/60/15 cooper cobra's, and all they do is spin. traction is what will break the axles or carrier, which i manged to do in with the same rear in my 95 blazer.

as for a strut brace for tbi, i did not find anything another than the edelbrock. if you have any fabrication skills, you can make one or modify one. but since the air cleaner is directly in the center, it would have to go around it. or you can get one of Spectre's induction setup, which locates the filter elsewhere, and you will have clearance to run a 3 point strut brace

I saw your video on your car and witnessed the spinning. Nice video by the way. I have just never had any experience with this and didn't know how much traction I would get by putting stiffer lower control arms and a stronger torque arm in it. The tires i looke at are 255s for the rear and 245s for the front.
thanks

yep. and as long as you keep in mind that the rear is the weak point, you should be fine. dont brake stand it for long, dont mash it over bumps, or pitch it sideways on rough intersections. i also have 2.73 gears, and i can spin the tires from a roll of about 35 mph
