Question Steering Knuckle? Parts?? ~or~ Stupid cash for klunkers!!

Soooo... turns out the steering knuckle needs to be replaced on our super sweet not quite running Z28 because the former owner decided to drill out the threads on it and just make a big old hole at the top. Did you know that:

1. used steering knuckles are not an easy thing to find
2. New steering knuckles cost $500?? ouch.

Anyone have a line on a good source for used parts for a '91 Z28... And, what other models and years would fit on the car? We believe from the research we've done that 90-92 steering knuckles will fit. Apparently this part of the car is of no great interest to anyone, so we're not entirely sure. Guy at the salvage yard thought from his books that an '85 t-bird knuckle would fit in the car. Fail. not so. Anyway, we're looking for one, if anyone knows of someplace we can get our hands on one, or other models, please let us know.

Much thanks, sorry, that was kind of wordy. Have a great day !!!!

You haven't been looking in the right place then.
There are tons of them on ebay in the $30 range, like this one: 1982-92 Camaro Spindle/Knuckle

thanks for the info! You are awesome

lol, I just re-read what I posted, part came off an '85 firebird, not a t-bird.
