Default Starts, runs. Shut off, wont start.

I get in my iroc and go to start it, starts fine. Let it run for 5-7 minutes, rev it aabit, shut it off and it wont start. What the heck could this be, cranks over alot, really fast, i check the fuel pressure and it sprays up a bit so that means it has pressure i guess. Its a tpi 5.7L.

So i run 12 volts at 200 amps from my charger into the battery and it will start everytime. What could the problem be?

coils will fail when they get warm if they are on there last legs. same for the ignition modual. something to do with the heat warming up the coils and they expand shorting out. the curcuits in the ignition modual do a simailar thing when warming only i think they break contact.

should be an ignition modual in the distributor, its a chip lookin thing. and if you have an extra coil around try changin it or if you have one like it in one of the other gm products you have try it.

I was thinking along those lines too. But the only thing that doesn't make sense enough to support that is, if it is his coil or module overheating, why then does the engine start right back up when he gives the battery a jolt of juice?

added amps must be allowing the failing unit to work. weak coil would be my guess but ive seen the module do some weird crab.
