Default Start no idle

Have a 92' that I just rebuilt the motor in. Motor starts and idles nice and smooth for about 5 seconds then just dies. Starts again and does the same thing. Any Ideas? Some sort of idle control solenoid or something? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jerry

Make sure you don't have any disconnected sensor wires, or open vacuum ports. If the old engine didn't do this, then you must have overlooked something in your hookups.

All sensor wires and vacuume hoses appear to be connected. When the motor was rebuilt, I replaced several sensors as well as the throttle body. The TB was bought on Ebay from a shop that rebuilds them. This is why I felt it was an idle control issue. Where do I go from here?

Thanks again.

No check engine light? Flash the codes to see if there's anything stored, even if the light isn't on.

look up in a manual on how to set the throttle position sensor. I like to do it with a battery charger on to simulate running voltage. could be a start of the problem. also, is the oil pressure switch hooked up? does the car idle smoothly then cut out, or is it rough? the ecm with energize the fuel pump realy for 5-10 seconds before the oil pressure switch will close. I have heard both ways for the switch. some say its just for the light, some say it will keep the fuel pump on once there is enough pressure
