spiked tack

Default spiked tack

i just got a 91 rs the only thing really wrong with it is the tack is spiked at 3500 rpm. when it should be 3000 rpm it is past 7000. any ideas on how to get it back to normal

With the engine off - it indicates 3500, right? That's what you mean?

You could try removing the clear cover over the instruments, pulling the needle off the spindle it rotates on where it is now (pointing at 3500) then pushing it back on (gently, gently) with it pointing to 0. Then reinstall the cover. This MIGHT fix it

My tac was really off when i bought my car, i later found out it's a common problem, if you have a cluster its prob bad, but if the tac and speedo are in diff clusters cant help ya
