Some help w/ hood lifts and windows
The little hydraulic lift things on my hood don't hold it up and i am wanting to pull them out and put in some kind of metal rod to hold it up like you'd find on most other cars, any suggestions on how to go about doing this?
As for the window question the passenger side window motor doesn't work and I'd rather have manual windows. How do I convert it from power windows to manual and how expensive/difficult is it?
thanks for any help ya'll give, just tryin to get this sweet ride in better condition ~_^ btw its a 92

Is there any particular reason you don't want to simply change out the non-working parts with working ones? I imagine it'd be far cheaper to just buy a new window motor and new hood struts than it would be to try a conversion.
In fact, I think the hood struts set me back less than $100 when I replaced mine, but I don't recall exactly.
Edit: Here's a window motor; $40

And the hood struts, $40 each

So a total investment of $120 there, nevermind the amount of time involved.

as for the hood i just like the rod prop style better but since you have kindly pointed me in the direction of cheap replacements ill probably just get those, but for the windows i wanted manual just because of personal preference

I'm asking $8000 Canadian. So about US$5700. That is negotiable of course, but keep in mind it's coming from Alberta, Canada, so there might be some import fees.
PM me if you want all the details in any case.

well due to lack of money i've decided to go the super cheap route and put a rod prop style for the hood from the junkyard, anyone know of a car that has a hood prop large enough for the huge hood that i could maybe find at a junkyard?

i just use like a 3 foot ection of pvc pipe. works for the trunk too if those struts are shot
