My baby is finally in the shop. She's getting the transmission rebuilt. Im having a Hurst shift kit put in it, kevlar bands and clutches, and a racing shell put in it . The rebuild plus the labor charge a grand total of $1200. Not bad in my opinion...

It probably doesnt look exactly like mine because of the fact that. Mine doesnt have the camaro emblem on the nose... Which personally i think that it looks cool w/o it . But, thats just me. I'm supposed to be picking her up tomorrow. I cant wait. Its going to cost 1150 total. Which isnt bad at all. The part that is killing the price is the labor fee's . I cant wait to get it back. Then after that I am going to try to put a 3.73 rear end in it. Next big project will be the engine. More than likely it will be a 350.

Ok, I have a question . How the hell do you break a flywheel from the center it ? Where the bolts hold on to the flywheel itself. And it was twisted and nearly sheared . What caused that to happen ?

My guess is you just had stress cracks that got worse over the years and it finally broke.

(I assume you mean the flexplate?)

Racing transmission - heavy duty enough to take the torque and aggressive throttle.
I will admit my tranny is not a true racing transmission. But, it will hold up for how i drive.
I finally got her lastnight. She's amazing. You can most definately feel that shift kit. But, only until you are heavy on the throttle do you feel the shift kit. Which of course. Because it is a shift kit. But I am just so insanely glad that I have her back so I can come back to school . Which I am posting this forum from my college.

So just a normal 700R4 rebuild with a shift kit. My opinion: It is operatting better because of the rebuild and not by any added performce parts installed in it (regardless of the shift kit changing the shift points). So it is not atrue "racing tanny".[sm=closed.gif]
