sensor confusion

what is the sensor that mounts on the bottom plate of my air cleaner? i think its my air temp sensor but b4 i did anything was just ask and make sure, just so i dont botch my air cleaner

Be nice if you told usthe year & engine. Some weird reason, not all cars are put toghether te same.
