hey i searched but no luck sorry, hey what are the diferences between RS & Z28?. i'm asking this cuz this dude is selling this 86 Z28 for $1200. but he has one RS with t-tops and was wondering what was the diference in power.. thanks for your help, please reply

 

you can get exact numbers off of msn autos however sufice it to say in 4th gens youll see a differance of nearly 100 horse power between a z28 and RS z28 being the better and the majority of third gen aint got all the much horse anyway tons of torque but not that much horse stock if z28 in good condition get it

 

What year is the RS? You can't get an exact 'differance' untill you know that. I would go with the Z-28 for that generation.

 

the RS looks like it's a 90-92 by the look of the stearing wheel ,looks like it has an airbag. the Z28's carpet and seats are a bit dirty and has no headliner so the interior needs a lil help. also the hood louvers are missing on the Z28

The Z28 will have more horsepower then the Rally Sport .... I am not for sure about the yrs and if there was a difference in what the package offered during those years but most of the time the Z will usually have more hp then the RS

 

well...yes, in 4th gens, the z28 had 85-100hp more than the rs....however, in 90, I believe the RS had a 305 correct?

the hp range would not be as great between the two then i would assume, and options between the two would be similar if not the same

 

i'm curious to know, how much hp tq does a 86 Z28 have? .

In 90 you could get either an RS or an IROC, that sit. The 3 engines were a V6 and 2 V8's 305 and 350. The 305 had 170 hp for the RS in 90. 86 Z28 numbers depend on the motor. V8's had either a 190hp 305 or a 155hp 305. This acording to the white book.

 

In 86 there were 3 305's Carbed with either 150 or 165 HP and TPI with 190 HP. The 90-92 if it is a V8 will have 170hp. The Rs has weak suspension. The Z28 is the better suspension option.
