"Rear Fender" Repair?

Exclamation "Rear Fender" Repair?

ok, Just recently, i hit something in the road that pretty much DESTROYED my rear fender area. looking at it, it looks to be a part of the body, but i could always be wrong right (GOD PLEASE LET ME BE WRONG!)? look at the picture below and i gotta gotta gotta know, is that area replaceable? if so, how? What do i have to do? what should i do? etc, i need lotsa answers!!!

Please look and help! greatly appreciated!

you can buy quarter panels to fix that, check ebay to see if they have any. I dont know what other stores sell them though.

you will have to cut that damaged spot out and replace with sheetmetal from anoter camaros quarter or you can buy the whole quarter and cut yours along body lines so the welds would be un noticeable since they would be along trim lines


no matter what you will need atleast a mig welder and experience in welding sheet metal

if you use mig tack weld only! continuous welding WILL warp the metal and or burn through

if you use tig you will have the best results and can do short welds but constant isnt recommended still

grind the welds
apply body filler
smooth out the imperfections
prime
wetsand
paint
wetsand
clear coat
final wet sand with highest grit possible
then polish

and it will be good as new


i have around 3 yrs experience in collision repair and this is the only way to properly repair it


dont just fill it. believe me it will fall out eventually or crack
