Default rear end

I just bought a 89 Camaro RS, already has a new ( not rebuildt) 350 in it, but im wondering what ratio rear end it has. If it dont have it, im thinkin about puttin in a 3.73, what yall think? Should i go with a 4.10 instead? i want a daily driver, as it is my only car other than a 68 chevy tuck, but i also want it to be somewhat fast on take off when i get the engine built up. Any thoughts as to what that rear end could be?

If nothing else was changed the stock rear with auto was a 2:73 open 10-bolt. Also its a 2-series carrier and you will not be using standard 3-series gears in any swap. You will require a spacer or thicker gears for the stock carrier. One option would be to swa[ the whole rear with a 3-series carrier and a limited slip and the gears of your choice. Again this may be the time to upgrde the brakes.

Stock for now, I would forget about changing gears. Not like changing your oil. Just not worth it for the cost of parts and labor and its not a DIY type of job. If you have 3:08 gears the same holds as I stated Before.

I may, but we have access to lifts and some pretty serious tools, so i could do the work myself, we have done it in my 68 chevy some years ago, not a HUGE deal, but no small task either. But yea i may go limited slip. I dunno, its all up on the board still, after all, im barely out of highschool, i got A LOT of time ahead of me to make this thing kickass.

Depends on whats up front?? And if you do dumb & stupid things with your car. All have a bearing on the stock 10 or 9 bolt rears.
