Quick question about the lockplate!

Default Quick question about the lockplate!

Without the lockplate removing tool, how can i remove it? i can push in the plate thing, but then what needs to be removed to release it. isnt there a pin of some kind? thanx!

There is a ring in a groove. Like a snap ring but no holes in it for a tool. One person can push on the plate and another can pry the ring out with a small screwdriver. Dont loose it though. You'll need it when it goes back together.

It is, and it's a ***** to get out too. You'd be better off getting a lockplate tool, although it CAN be removed with one person pushing and the other popping the ring out.

The first couple of times I done them I used my hands with a helper but when my thumbs would crackle and pop and affect my video game playing I got a tool!
