question about rims for my camaro..

Default question about rims for my camaro..

i am looking to put on a new pair of rims for my camaro but want to make sure that they will fit. will an 18" rim that has a width of 9.5" fit on my car? and i dont mean by the bolt pattern..... will it fit in the wheel well and everything? thanks guys

The rims MAY be a bit wide, but as far as diameter it depends on the profile of the tire you use. Keep it around 40 for a set of 18s and it should be fine.

You'll have to get someone else to answer you about the width though.

Stock wheels from the later 3rd gen Camaros are 8"wide, so I don't see a problem with 9.5" wide ones as long as the backspacing is right. If you are wanting to use wheels from a 4th gen Camaro, or from a C4, 5, or 6 Vette, then those won't work unless you use wheel adapter/spacers. Backspacing on those wheels are too much for the 3rd gen, I've tried it before.

I have 17 x 9.5 in rims on my third gen. They are kinda tight, even with the two inch wheel spacers. A 10.5" tire is not supposed to go around these cars but it looks really good. If you switch to a 4th gen rear end, you will be able to run those rims in the rear without the spacers b/c the newer rear end is 4" wider.

yea, sucks man. are there any sites specific for what rims i can use on my car? they seem pretty hard to find that will fit specific to this application. or does anyone know of companies that i can try or websites that could help me out on what wheelspace and depth i should be looking for? thanks
