if my 89 rs has tbi, would i make more hp hoppin up the tbi or switchin out for a carb? also, does tbi help economy or not really? im sure i can tune it out really good but idk, what you guys think?

I think you would be better off with tweaking the TBI. More reliable and less maintence. The TBI's heads are its weak point.

I would leave the TBI alone.If you want more out of that 305, I would add 1 5/8 dia Headers, HI-Flow Cat (3"in/out) and 3" Catback Exhaust. That would give you additional horsepower and a base for other mods.

my car has headers, 3in exhaust, edelbrock tbi performer intake, and cold air...

Going back to your choice of TBI or carb I still say stick with the TBI. Since you already have all the other mods find some one that does custom proms for what you have.
