Default Project Update

Here's an Update on my project with some pics.As you can tell birds have been ****ting on my car. I fixed my shifter by just buying a new shifter ****. The motor is still having some problems I guess the starter went out the other day, I drained the battery and kept trying to start the car with a charger and I guess I screwed it up it acted like it couldn't turn the motor over with a full charge but I have a new one to replace it with. There was even smoke coming off my ground wire from the battery. This Sunday I'm going to put it on along with my other carb I bought that was spos to go on this motor. The carb thats on it now has been giving me a hell of allot of problems. Is it true that these cars originally came fuel injected? If so that would explain my huge clump of wires not connected under my hood but they don't seem to cause a problem though. Also the dash has been acting werid, When I turn the key to start the car the lights in the dash come on but sometimes when I turn it all the way the motor does nothing. I was thinking this also had something to do with the starter.Oh well Ill find out Sunday I guess when I put the new starter on. I'll keep you guys up to date.

*Update 5-25-10*

New Pics

I had my starter rebuilt finally but it didn't solve the problem of the car not starting. I completely rebuilt the distributor and got it on top dead center. One problem I found was Im not getting gas to my plugs. Im thinking it's my carb so I removed a few days ago.The carb it self was full of gas but the top part of the motor was bone dry.Im still trying get another carb to see if that is in fact the problem

nice project you have there, i like the colour it makes it look sinister. are those M/T valve covers painted orange? is there any way to put those pics underneath each other

After you change the carb and still have the prob, try a new fuel pump or maybe your lines are clogged?

Yes those are m/t covers. The new carb I got is older and the bottom is froze up Im trying to figure out how to free it up with out taking it apart because im afraid im gona break screws like on my last one. Im getting fuel outa my pump because when I turn the key it shoots out the hose...I see myself buying another carb very soon...

Maybe you just need a carb kit? might be cheaper than getting a new one. And with those M/T covers i seen people sand the top of them (where the lines and M/T symbol is) and leave the rest painted and just the aluminum on the top shows, it looks awsome.

like this but orange

Yea get another carb, you need to get rid of that quadra junk carb and go with an Edelbrock carb.
