is there a way to paint interior panels without them looking like crap or having the paint just crack off. the interior of my '84 firebird was originally white and i want to redo it all black/dark gray. the person that had the car before me tried to paint some things already but when you touch them it is either like chalk or it just flakes off. i was just wondering if i'm better off buying black panels or if i can paint the plastic ones. thanks guys!!!! i have already taken most of the interior out of the car and i want to salvage everything i can.

i used a paint from duplicolor. i took ALL of the panels out and sprayed them. i washed them with hot soapy water. let them dry, and sprayed them. turned out pretty well

probably just a brillo pad to get the already flakey stuff off.i suppose you could use thinner. i dont know if that would screw up the plastic itself or not though.

try it on the back of one of the panels. none of them are super easy to find OR cheap to replace

helped my friend do a 6 cyl. camaro w/ a 355 swap. since it was originally a 6 cylinder the suspension on it sucked ***. we did that first because he wasnt driving the car daily. if you intend to drive it while you do it up i would definately build an engine/trans to drop in. if you go w/ automatic- ratchet shifters are always fun. makes it basically a manual w/o a clutch.

I have that exact same engine you are considering and If I were you I would go with this one instead http://www.jegs.com/p/GM+Performance/752396/10002/-1

by the time you are done with the engine swap you will have spent the same amount as this kit costs. I did my swap from a 305 to the that 350 with the 2nd components package and spent about 3500 dollars by the time it was in. I wish that I had done my research and got the one in the link above instead.

This is the one I might put in, in the next year or two. until I research it more that is. http://www.jegs.com/p/Blueprint+Engines/761293/10002/-1
