Default Problems with tranny tail housing and speedo gears.

I ordered a 10 tooth drive and 34 tooth driven from TCI the other day. They assured me the type 'H' driven gear would fit my th350 tailhousing.

Guess what,,,they were wrong. Ive got a 6 inch housing with the one inch opening hole for the speedo drive, not the bigger 700r4 type.

Now heres my question......The biggest type 'f' driven gear I can put in is a 22 tooth?

SO my question is...what kind of tail housing do I have, and how do I get around this issue?

I know this is tough to explain and even tougher with no pics.....

They may have said that gear will fit your tail housing, but maybe not that it would fit through the hole.
Have you tried slipping the driven gear through from the inside of the tail housing, and then put the tail back on?

Oh yeah. Way too big. TCI has a really good chart on their site that shows the exact sizes of the gears. The salesman insisted it would work. [:@]

The funny thing is, the car came with 18 tooth drive, 19 tooth driven and 2.77 gears. When you run those numbers on their web site calculator, it says it doesnt work. Im gonna call monday and try and order something that gets me close.......heck, the speedo hasnt even WORKED for the last two years, I can handle if its calibration is off a bit.....
