Default Ok very different news.

Ok well me and my dad found out some half good half bad news about my current engine. there are two people involved in this story so here goes. one person is the person that owned my engine before he sold it to this guy, ill call him ted, and this guy, ill call him fred. fred, told me and my dad that the motor was a 383 stroker, blah blah blah everything ii told you before. well my dad met up with ted at his work, and they were talking. because my dad and i didnt reall yknow what was put into out motor, my dad had the conversation with ted about it. my dad asked what was done to the motor. infact, the motor is not stroked. but, i have the description of what he said was done to it.

-350 block, bored .060 over, i think that makes is 360 cubic inches
-crane cams 290 degree cam.
-72cc combustion chambers
-flat top, hypertueciboobley what the word is pistons
-2.06 intake valves and 1.6 exhaust.

Ok, i was pretty happy at that, but i was a little disappointed that it wasnt stroked. My next question is with stock log manifolds, stock 4 speed tranny, 750 edelbrock carb, intake, small stuff, and what i just said, does anyone have an estimate of what i could be looking at for horsepower and torque? my guess was 340 to 350 hp and 380 to 410 ft lbs of torque.

My next question is after i get some headers, 3 inch exhaust with a dynomax bullet, what would i possibly be pushing there?

Basically you wound up with a stock engine with a cam. I would suggest getting a whole new exhaust sytem, headers, pipes, mufflers, cat, etc., before adding any other mods, this will allow you to take advantage of your cam. Next, I would go with a set of Vortec heads and Vortec 4bb manifold, and reuse you 750 carb. At this point 400hp sounds reasonable.

400 horsepower thats more then i expected, i sure hope your right lol cuz thats an awful pretty number. the next thing i am doing is exhaust, before anything else. i was planning on dougs try-y headers, but any ceramic coated will do. then i was going to have them run into one 3 inch, with a dynatech high flow car, with one dynomax bullet.
