i pulled out 2.8 and swapped in a carbureted 355. twice now within the last 3 months it wont start, ive got strong lights, but not even a click
when trying to start it. the first time i had the battery checked and it was dead, so i put in a new battery ,and now the same thing. would it be my alternater eating it up, or is it the starter? thankyou

no one can give a diffinitive answer as to what is wrong, you are going to have to find it. it is possible there is something wrong in the alternator and its draining the battery. how long is it sitting between start? is it carbed of FI? any aftermarket items like a stereo? is the battery still good or has it died as well? lights dont draw as much power as the starter does so they will still be bright even with a discharged battery. it could also be the starter relay/solenoid, but that wouldnt cause a parasitic draw.
