Default no resart

Have a problem, if car sits for a day it will start right up and idle. If you give it any throttle it will die and not restart, AND the Check Engine Light will come on. Anybody have this problem before? Bypassed Vats system completely already.

Get code scanned. They are there for a reason. I would first check fuel pressure,. After that try putting the key on on a couple times before actually starting so as to build fuel pressure. if so then something is wrong fuel related.

The car is an 89 IROC-Z, tpi. Has good fuel pressure. Can jump fuel pump at test connector and it will still die with fuel pump running. Check engine light comes on but no codes show up, just the everything is ok code. Don't even get the vats code.

does it smoke at all? can you smell a raw fuel smell? how long will it idle before it will die, and its immediatly when you give it gas it dies?

It will probably idle for a long time. I let it idle one time for about 10 min before I touched the throttle. If you give it any throttle it dies with check engine light coming on. Check for codes and you get nothing. Car will crank over but not run. It is a fuel problem because you can squirt gas into intake and it will run on that and stay running as long as you keep squirting in gas. Leave alone for a day and it will start righr back up and idle BUT you give it throttle and it dies, go figure
