Default Nitrous and 350 swap

I was considering getting nitrous.BeforeI get the nitrous,I was going to get edelbrock headers and y-pipe, also a new edelbrock tbi intake. i already got a high flo cat, and exhaust. So my question is ifI only use a 75 or 100 shot, and having only the mods mentioned, would the motor be able to tolerate the nitrous (rear end?). If not what wouldI wantto add, mod wise. Also even if i dont haveto do any other mods, wouldit still be benificial.I wasnt considering anything higher than 100 shot anyway, im just looking for something to boost the horsepower. Thanks

You keep asking questions about increasing horsepower on that 305 TBI RS. Now you are asking about going on the bottle with nitrous. How are you going to use this laughing gas???[sm=Flahssssss.gif]

I agree, with all these mods you're making, why not just drop a 350 in there? You'd get alot better results. Originally, you were gonna get a decent amount of power for what you were asking, but your goals keep getting loftier, and at this point, a bigger motor is the best way to go.

allright guys I do understand that a 350 crate would be the way to go. however im a 16 year old kid with not a whole lot of money, and im simply just looking for some bolt on mods (ect) to boost the horsepower.

Who said anything about a crate motor?

And I understand the no money thing, but everything you're asking about adds up to alot more than a cheap used or rebuilt 350.

A nitrous system is gonna cost you as much as a cheap 350. Trust me kid, Im in the same boat you are in, old 305 and want more power..Ive looked and looked, and the only real cost efficient and sensible way is to drop in a 350.

ok then just per say, how much would a quality, not necessarily new, 350 cost. also could i use some of the parts off the 305 (intake, tbi unit, ect.). also about the tbi, since its a whole new motor and everything could i just get a carbueated 350 and just get a carb. and carb. intake. but then would i need to update the computer, or i am doing that anyway since its a whole engine swap.

You do know that it is illegal to use nitrous on the street.[sm=nono.gif]

You would have to ask the mechanic whose putting it in to find that out. Lowest most people in my area go is $400, and those are ussualy friend prices. Engine swaps aren't that hard to do, anyway, if the whole thing's built already. If know how to do all the other mods you asked about, you shouldn't have much trouble swapping to a carbed motor, assuming you CAN carb that car in your state. With emissions and all, that is.
