DONT TOUCH THOSE T-TOP SEALS! Unless they are really rotted, and I mean pulling apart, then you may be creating more of a headache than its worth. It took me well over a week of digging, scraping and solvent to remove mine, and I was refinishing the car so I didnt care about the paint. My tops still leak. It just is part of owning a T-Top car. Your car looks to be in great shape (I was gonna jump all over you for paying 1200 bucks for a totaled car but its in nice shape) It kills me to see that, the car looked almost mint and has next to no miles on it......damn, if my car gets so much as a dent it will be scrap based on what you have!

Keep us posted.

Update. Did not do a lot of work through the winter. The car has been taken apart and wil be on the rack this weekend. I am having trouble locating the 1988 "shorty" rear spoiler with the brake light. This spoiler was only used in 1988. If anyone can help me locate one, let me know. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

i think the firebird used a similar wing. im not a fan of that particular style wing. you could change it the style used on the z28 of similar years, if you like

We have thought about putting the three piece spoiler on, like the one in your picture. My dad wants to find the shorty because it was only used on the 88 model year and wants to locate one for that reason. If we don't locate one then we will go with the three piece spoiler.

We did locate a 88 Shorty spoiler. The guy won't give us a price. He wants us to make an offer. Any suggestions as to what we should offer?

those spoilers are definitely not easy to come by, did you end up getting it?

if not have you thought about the 91-92 Z28 spoiler? those are very easy to come by and i think they look great

also, ive replaced the T-top weatherstripping in 3 thirdgens, just use a healthy amount of Weatherstripping adhesive and you should not have any issues,

the leaks happen between the seal and the body, not the seal and the glass, so the adhesive should seal any gaps there are when installing

Default Shorty wing

We did purchase the shorty wing. It did not look the greatest when we picked it up. It had been spray painted black with silver stipes. I already have have of the paint sanded off.

The wing does not have any cracks, missing studs. It will work great and am happpy that I could locate one.
