Default New Intake Manifold

Hey I want to put a new intake manifold on my 305 TBI. Not brand new because I don't plan on keeping the engine after the summer so I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it. Any suggestions? Will that give me some noticeable HP gains or will I have to do other things in addition to it. I have a dynomax exhaust.

The manifolds a 1/4 inch taller for the bigger runners. You would probly feel more benifits from 350 injectors. Or both.

Ok, but would the intake alone produce any horsepower.

A small amount. Maybe not even noiticable. May only notice at a higher rpm range.

So if I got the cam id basically need the intake to go with it and if i got the intake id need the injectors with it. So my best bet would be just to get the cam, intake, and injectors. Also how much increased horse am i lookin at between the cam and intake. Also all together (cam, intake, injectors)

A cam would really benifit with an intake. And it might as well be done at the same time since you have to pull the intake to remove the lifters to do a cam. The injectors are not nessasry but with the additional fuel may give you a little more. They could come later also. As for power you should look at waht cam you would go with and see what that manufacture claims for power

Yea, especially since the 305 cams were pooches.....that would be a big difference. However, usually when you change one thing, you have to change lots of things to have it all run optimally...for example, no sense in putting a 1000 cfm throttle body on if the manifold or heads are stock because they won't flow all of that. If you flow more air, you need more fuel which means bigger injectors, and depending on how big, a new fuel pump to power the bigger injectors etc. It's all a system and works best when everything is matched up. If you do a cam, definately do the intake and injectors with it....

Thats why you do your research on parts for what you want to do. If you dont want to do head work then you can find a cam that works well with stock heads and it would surely benifit with a manifold. The injectors I think would be the cheapest. $80 a piece I believe. And 350 injectors will work with a 305 pump. I am not sure though if the pump has the volum for 454 injectors. I know a guy that worked on these since they were new and says the injectors are a good cheap upgrade compared to buying the whole holly TB
