i got a new 383(stroker) im my camaro never been started. it doenst start thats the problem at first when i turned it over flame out of the exhaust and gas spit out of the carb. to advise i fliped the distibuter 180 degress and it worsened only spitting gas now and it struggles to turn over. anyone got a clue what might help with that problem?

Was that engine ever checked out to see if it was put toghether right? Camshaft timing, ditributor timing, compression, etc..

 

Not to sound corny or second guess anyone, but once I put the spark plug wires on counter-clockwise instead of clockwise and it did the same things that yours is doing. Does it turn over at all?

yes i turns over fine but only sounds like 2 cylinders fire. then it spits the gas.
