Talking New to the Camaro World!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this part of life of having a forum. I've just recently bought my first Camaro. It is a 1989 Chevy Camaro RS with a V8 5.0 engine. I'm starting to new more about them thanks to the internet. My dad has one in his back yard just rotting sitting there since i believe 1994 and his is a 1985 Z28 i asked him for it, and even offered to buy it and his answer was nope. So this is what happens when you love a car so much you go and buy your OWN!!! LOL. Another thing that got me buying my car is my boyfriend has his project cars going on, but he more into impalas and rags. I love what he does and it pushed me more to go out and get my own toy. Soooooo here i am. Now how do I get this started? I need to get parts for my car. Its been sitting for about 10 yrs nonop. I've got my stuff for the tune up. Now since it has been sitting i'm wondering if i should the seafoam any recommendations? Please i dont want no negative **** on my things. Thank you

Seafoam never hurts. Just follow the instructions on the can. And just before your oil change, add what ever it says to the crankcase, i think its 1/2 oz per quart? run it for a day or so, then change the oil. No more than that because all that crap that it loosens up can be bad and possible plug up your filter.

Also, If you need parts. Sometimes Ebay can be magic. My favorite right now is www.rockauto.com that place is amazing.

moved your thread to the 3rd generation section for you. welcome to the forum. imo i would not use seafoam, especially on a high mile engine that has not been cared for. it can clean to the point where it does more harm than good. lets see some pictures

Welcome to the forum. I would stay away from seafoam for now. Get a good tune up first and go from there. Seafoam could cause problems with it sitting for 10yrs. How many miles?
