what year is it?

so when you say you have power to the starter, that means all lights and everything works, but when you turn the key nothing happens?

sounds like a Neutral safety switch problem, or if you have a late enough year it might be a vats problem that happen to pop up when you took the console out

I'm saying neutral safety switch too. Make sure you didn't knock or break the wire off the switch on the shifter.

yea everthing works lights, windows, interior lights but when i took out the center console since there was a b&m slap shifter installed there were two harnesses that were just laying next to the shifter under the console one had two wires which i think is for the neutral safety switch and another connector that has i believe four wires which i think is for the reverse lights which i do not have. but with the new shifter i have no where to plug those plugs into.

For the neutral safety switch, you can connect the two wires together, but be careful because you'll be able to start the car while in gear. That, or wire it to an aftermarket momentary switch on the dash. Same goes for the reverse lights, wire to another switch on the dash.
