Hey everyone,

I have a 1990 Rs with a 94(3.4l) engine and was put in about 6 months ago i was curious about the engine because im not sure it is because it looks identical to the 91 up engines, my thing is how would i find out it is a 94 engine like would i find the serial# on the engine(were would it be) and then i would contact chevy to see if it matched? Also when you put in an mod. engine does the computer have to be caliabrated and what would it do. were do i take it?

Intake manifold is different and the 94 has no distributor, but I suppose parts could have been swapped around.

There is an engine code on the block, usually on the driver's side. Parts might be interchangable, but it's unlikely since its two different generation engines.

I dont think it is a different generation. I think it is still a 60 degree V6. GM performance parts offered the 3.4 as a direct replacment for 2.8S trucks.
