Default Need help with my 91 RS fuel issue

I hear the pump humming in the gas tank for about 2 seconds. But i'm not getting fuel to the trottle body. Oh and i put a new fuel filter on. I've checked to make sure I put it on correctly and not backwards and it's on right. Any ideas?

My old 91 RS acted the same way. Even with the line disconnected at the filter, the gas would barely come out with the initial prime. I figured it was the pump, so dropped the tank. The famous "cut a hatch from above" won't work with this model either, I tried and have pictures to show you why. My pump was good, but the rubber connector that attaches the pump to the sending unit assembly was deteoriated. The pump was just blowing gas right back into the tank. But I did replace the pump anyway since it was all apart.

very well could be what ^^^ said or a bad conection or wire, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator. check the conection at the fuse to make sure the fuse conection ends are not coroded. although very unlikely look the fuel pump wires over best u can under the car for any place there could be an area were the wires are exposed. if so investigate. i think the relays in your yr are like mine and are interchangable. the relays should be in a fuse/power box under the hood. should be a scamatic in the box top telling which relay is for the fuel pump. make sure there the same, exchange it with say the fan relay and see if the pump works. if it does its the relay. if not then it is most likely the pump or the pressure reg.
