Unhappy Need help with 91 RS problem

My RS sometimes starts and sometime doesn't. I thought it might have been my ignition module, but i had it tested and it was good. Came back and a little while later I tried it again just for kicks and it started up. Feeling better but yet still comfused, went on working on taking my busted fog lights off. Later before I left my shop, tried cranking my car again just to hear it rumble and it wouldn't start again. And when I say it won't crank, I mean it doesn't even turn over. Please help. Thanks. Buck

Are you referring to the chip on the key? If so; How do I check it? And how do I know it's bad or good?

You can take the key to your Chevy dealership, they'll test it for free. If it's like my 92's key, they're like 20 bucks to get a new one. And on some, depending on the antitheft system, if you try to use a key without a chip or w/ a nonfunctioning chip, the theft system will lock you out for a certain amount of time.

I would be thinking the VAT system is your problem. I would check this first before toubleshooting anything else. Common Problem...start with the key or try your spare first. The Vat system can be disabled, do a search for this.
