If you're going to do those upgrades to the car, stick to the daytona hood and worry about performance. I understand about the parents, I had an 87 when I was 19 and my mom had a heart attach when I worked on it. Now I'm up to my fourth camaro, an 85 with a manual tranny 7 years later. She can't say much now. Concentrate on performance ie: handling, engine and exhaust and you'll be fine.
