I bought this a couple months ago, I had a couple Camaros when I was in my late teens to early 20's. I'm 35 now and miss having one and my wife wanted me to get one also since we were dating when I owned one lol. I just installed the Iroc hood this past Sunday, the hood had a 34 sticker on there but it is peeled off now and you can see where the primer is around it..lol

 

And after 4 years of work, a cheap paint job, new rims and 2 engines later....yours could look like this....



Please dont tell me you got rid of a TBI hood that actually had a functioning louver in it.....

 

I still have the hood but i'll put it up for sale soon, nice looking ride by the way.

the original had no louvers with it and i picked up the hood with louvers for 50$

 

My old one had the louvers ripped out also, two gaping holes just MADE to let rain in. I put the scoops on to cover it up.

So whats your first project going to be on your 82? Please dont ask how to get more power out of that 305! 8*p It looks pretty solid, if you dont mind me asking, what did you pay?

 

I got tired of rain getting on the engine also, I paid 1500 for it. it also came with brand new tires on the car.

 

Well you have the original grill inserts intact, thats also a huge plus. Those lil buggers are expensive! The rims are original too. DONT get rid of them! I see the nose has several rub spots...I tried sanding mine (bad idea) then I removed the entire nose and chemically stripped it (worse idea EVER!) I wound up buying a brand new one because the base paint was so shot. Talk to a body guy and see what they can tell you. NOW, for the important stuff....lets see under the hood....

 

I'm going to put different wheels on it and my cousin paints cars for a living and i have that worked out already, the engine is a stock 305 but I have a 305 bored out 40 over with new pistons,rings,bearings,turned crank,new summit mild cam, and oil pump. I basically had the 305 given to me so I went ahead and had it redone and don't have tons of money into it and I'm not going to race it but have a nice cruiser.
