my mph gauge is jumping up and down. when i step on the gas on 1st and 2nd it doesnt show how fast im going till i hit 3rd gear is when it starts marking. While in 1st and 2nd it jumps up and down. Any ideas what it might be? any help..thank you

 

I don't know what year your ride is. Check the speedo cable @ both ends. Tranny & gauge. If it's loose it would act that way.

 

Can you here it making a noise? I have had one do that in another car and it was making a noise and eventually broke. The cable broke.

 

its a 92 camaro and i dont hear any noise. I googled the problem and found something similar to it on a chevytrucks.com
