swapping an ls2 in a third gen camaro... do you have to anything else that you wouldnt have to do with an ls1 swap? because ive seen websites with kits for ls1 conversions. but if i got an ls1 conversion kit would that work with an ls2 motor?

RE: ls2
yes, as far as i know everything for you will be the same. i think its just a different set of heads, probably a slightly different cam, and a different tune setting a LS1 and an LS2 apart.

RE: ls2
ur thinking ls1 and ls6
the ls2 is the 6.0L. if i remember right it can still be fired using an ls1 computer but needs some things adapted, but in your case you would hopefully have the whole electrical deal.
the + to all of this is that even though they are different blocks, they have the same mounting points and will bolt right in the same way an ls1 will.

RE: ls2
well originally all i wanted was the ls2 because it was such a popular motor. i mean i hear people putting ls2s in there 50s hot rods. i saw on barret jackson a 56sh vette with a 6spd and ls2 conversion it was pretty much a 56 vette with 06 c6 vette in it. its pretty cool. i see all these popular cars with the ls2... new camaro, corvette, gto, trailblazer ss, ssr, and all that good stuff. but i never really heard much about the ls6... it has like 402 horsepower or something right? and what cars did they put the ls6 in? would it be cheaper to do an ls6 6 spd swap as opposed to an ls2 6 speed swap?

RE: ls2
i just had this killer idea... what if i take an ls1+6spd out of either a 2004 gto or a 98-02 camaro ss/firebird/transam. find one with low miles, put it on my camaro, get the wiring harnesses, the exhaust teh whole bit, and get a supercharger for the ls1. does the ls1 have an aluminum block? 4 bolt main? and would it be able to hold up to a supercharger? because then i would have a 1989 supercharged ls1 6 speed camaro rs, that would be bad ***
