Default Lower door hinge fix?

Ok my lower hinge is bad. The holes on the hinge that is welded to the door are all worn out to large.

I'm flat broke and I don't want to buy another lower hinge and go through the ordeal of drilling out the door and welding it all in.

So has anyone tried to weld up the holes and re-drill them out to the original size?

Had to do that many times in the body shop. Mostly on the 88-00 Chevy trucks as those hinges are welded onto the doors and the cab. Dont weld the hole up solid though.

And if you find your upper hinge needs fixing and your doing a little better than flat broke here is a kit to fix it.

Well I ended up drilling out the holes on the welded hinge and hammered in a pair of bushings. They are so tight that the pin is really solid in them so the pin will not wear on that hinge anymore.
