alright, i a 89 camaro RS 305 V8, so. its got the stock cam in it and its a real whimpy cam. im lookin for a cam that isnt too radical but boosts up the horsepower a good amount. its my everyday car so lets be realistic, but at the same time, i want it to sound sick. so if anyone could give me any suggestions that would be great. thanks.

what r u realy looking for, something nice and torquey or something thats going to give u some more get up and go, that particular cam is for torque, actually if u read at the bottom its for trucks and 4x4's to be honest thou, for the pain its going to take for that cam i would dis the 305, u can drop a 350 in there and not have to change anything use all your old equitment, especially if its tbi. and u can pick up a running 350 for pretty cheap anymore, i know i can get a running one from the yard for about 300

I am actually doing exactly what zeus said, getting a 350 to swap into my rs, but before i got the 350 i was going to build the 305 using that cam. That cam is actually not only made for 4x4's and trucks, it was made for the throttle body injection 305 and 350 motors, which 90% of them were in the Chevy/GMC trucks from 1987 until 1994. The motor was also used in the 3rd gen camaro's from 88-92, but it was not originally planned by GM. They were going to keep RS cars either MFI V6 (140HP) or TPI 305 (205HP) and Z-28's TPI 305 HO (230HP) and TPI 350's (245HP). So that cam was actually made for all TBI 305 and 350 engines.
