Default Long block or big block

Are these terms inner-changeable ? I'm looking for a new engine for my 305 rs and i thought it took a big block, but when buying the engine from this company, they called it a long block. Just wondering if long block means somthing different from big block?

Those are two very different things long block means it comes with everything up to the heads. A short block is everything bellow the heads. A big block is a term for an engine with a larger engine block. Your 305 is a small block.
