Default a little project, need some info.

So heres my plan.. I have 454 big block out of a 95 Silverado.. I want plant it into a mid 80's camaro.. like the one I have now.. but junkier. So I have something to play with and work on..
I would just like to know if someone has done this already, and if so.. can you guys please give me as much info as you can to do this.. such as best tranny to use, good rear end to use other than stock. stuff like that.. just so I can get a base line of where I'm at and what I"ll need. plus any good site with info about this swap and moding would be great...
thank you in advance..

the 3rd gen camaros only fit small bocks. you can tightly fit a big block in there, but youll need mounts, and heavier coils for the extra weight. i dont know about trannys, it depends on stick or auto. if you want a stick i hear the t-56 is good.

Hey, sorry I am kinda new here, but, a 454 is going to twist the crap out of that car. but I guess if its just a play car, plan on climbing out of the window. a strong 350 will twist a 3rd gen camaro if it is stock.

It is basicly a play car, I'm not really worried about it twisting or how it ends up in the end.. I just pulledan 84 camaroout of a friends uncle place.. and he said I could keep it.. motor doesn't work so I figured project time(time for fun) .. I do have a bud that is gonna help me by do most of the fab work for mounts and things, plus making the fram more rigid.. I know enough to get me started on this project.. but I'm in the dark on what tranny and rear end is best to go with.. I'll prolly go auto, just cuz I want to.(already got a stick)..

so yeah, any more help would be great

I know your heart is set on a 454, just an idea though, sell the 454, they are sought after enough to get some money for it, and invest into a strong small block, it will fit in the car alot better and probably still give you the results you want, it would still be a fun car to drive, and you might make enough of the sale of the 454 to finish the project without too many headaches, I know the problems I am coming accross retro fitting my 1990 from a V6 to the 327 it has in it now. just a thought.

Put the 454 in there that would be badass.
I seen an 83 junker camaro with a 454, the car looked like **** then he popped the hood and
then I pooped myself a little. The 454 looks so huge under the hood. Go for it!!!!!!!!!
