Just found out some news
Ok well i was tunin my timing by turning the destib, and i saw the intake manifold type i had, it is an edelbrock streetmaster singleplane. i hear those intake manifolds are kindof rare and they are not made anymore, can anybody help me out on gettin some information on this manifold.

im sure that the long time chevy guys may know better than i do, but for a low-revving street car, a single plane intake manifold hurts your bottom end. when we went to the high rase single plane intake manifold on my engine, it killed my 60 foot times...if its so rare, maybe its worth something...look into the edelbrock airgap...its what i have on my nonner, and it helped quite a bit over both the stock cast intake, and the edelbrock single plane intake.

the motor has a high end cam to match up with it. im pretty sure the powerband is from 1000 to 5500. it deosnt seem to have any problems with bottom end, although i am aware of single planes are ment for high rpm power. actually i went for a little illegal drive today around my block, did a burnout right through second gear.

If you have a high end cam in there (by that I mean one aimed at power up top) then the single plane might not be hurted you too much because the cam isn't going to work it down low anyway -- more important to whoever put it in is that the manifold and cam are both tuned at the high end. Regardless, someone wanted max HP up top here.

oh no i never though it was hurting its drivability. my question was i wanted to find information on the manifold, like what year it stopped being made and some backround info. the motor has definitely been set up for more top end, but it never has any problem with low end torque, and it is very driveable, although it is a serious hog on gas.
