ok well i decided to change trans' as well because the car has a manual in it but the 400 flywheel for a manual trans is $250 and i also would have to get a new bellhousing on the trans to fit the new flywheel. but luckily i have a th350 with a monster shift kit in it and an auto 400 flywheel already but the th350 is significantly shorter than the manual. i know longer driveshaft butthere is i guess a torsion arm that runs from the manual trans along the driveshaft and connects to the rear housing. its too short and where the existing bolts are on it they will be right at the u joint where the shaft and trans meet. i was gonna make a conversion bracket for it but there are also no holes on the th350 to attatch the torsion arm. any idea on what i need to do or if i can do away with th bar?

You can buy a crossmember that has the mounts on it from here. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...p;Category=341

Make your own, or put a different tailshaft on the TH350 (not sure if feasable)

You can run without it but first time you launch real hard I would almost guarantee your rearend is going to go poof and splater gear fluid all over the place.

gvmv thanks for the answer and i was just lettin you know that i figured that out after i posted the original message but thanks for the input. camaro 1984 i really dont want a standard trans being that it is a drag car and i need it to be consistant to win races. but thanks for the input it is all greatly appreciated. to let everyone know i have already fixed the issue. i am a custom metal fabricator by trade any way it didnt take but a few days of rackin my brain and lack of sleep before i came up with the fix for the problem.
