Are Iroc-Z heads add power to 305 RS

RE: will Iroc-Z heads add power to 305 RS
If you want to switch the whole motor to TPI and not just the heads, you will need the complete TPI setup, which includes the intake manifold, plenum, runners, fuel rail, ECU, wires, and maybe a few more things I cant think of right now. Your best bet would be to get the complete setup from someone who is replacing their TPI with a different fuel injection system or carbuerator so you will get everything you need at once.

how are the heads different for the tpi engines?
and to go from tbi to tpi, you will need the following:
intake manifold
runners
plenum
throttle body
fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
bigger return line
computer
wiring harness
fuel rail and injectors
mass air flow sensor for 85-89 intakes
and misc. other sensors and bits

no, the TPI has a throttle body attached to the plenum, which in turn is attached the runners, which THEN attaches to the manifold. as far as your best manifold for the job... there arent many choices for it.
micro... its just thought, dont quote me on this, but i would THINK GM had the common sence to upgrade the heads for the TPI to allow for better flow of various things. Like i said, just a thought. They very well may be the exact same heads for the 305, i know the 350 tpi has a whole different set of heads though.

That,s not true the plug angles on cylinders 2,4 and 3,5 are different and i think the valve covers are of the center bolt application. look for the corvette aluminum heads! if you absolutely have to acquire them from a junkyard, you need to find the casting # 10088113. good luck and happy hunting.

On further research, I was wrong they should bolt with no modification, the aluminum heads on the crate H.O. Engines feature a D- Port exhaust head design with the angled spark plugs and they are identical to the corvette heads and offer improved airflow capacity and will bolt to the stock camaro with no mods or problems. And Microkid is dead right about the performance chip it allows you to advance timing and change fuel delivery meaning more fuel, however you have to run 92 octane, and with the price of fuel just not worth it.

whats wrong with usein 92? thats all i run, i spend a few more bucks when i fill up, literally, like 3. I think its worth it.. but then again, i probably dont drive my car nearly as much as yall do

Oh dont get me wrong Tom! there's nothing bad about 92 octane fuel, you get better performance cleaner emissions, but with oil prices today, and my camaro is a daily driver about 75 miles avg daily, it can be a little pricey. Have a great 4th 350rs and the rest of the camaro forum group.
