Default Intake Swap Q's

Ok I think I got all or at lest most of the old gasket off the engine heads but I make go over it again to make sure

Ok I just need to know the order of the Stock intake bolts as some have those studs on them and Im not 100% sure where they go

Also I kinda forgot my timing marks Ok the dizzy so how badly could I screw it up? and is it possible to mechanically time it before starting it?

Um and is there anything else I should do with the intake off cleaning wise and the such?

The studs can go wherever you want them to go. Won't hurt anything.

To set the timing: Remove the #1 spark plug. Place your finger over the hole and have someone rotate the engine with a ratchet. Watch the harmonic balancer for TDC. You have an exhaust and compression stroke, when the timing marks line up, your finger should pop out of the head. If not, then you're on the exhaust stroke. Rotate it one more time and you will be on the compression stroke. Then, with the engine at TDC on the compression stroke, drop the distributor in with the rotor pointing towards the #1 cylinder. Roughly set the timing with the engine at TDC and it should start no problem.

Ok thank you! That helps quiet a bit. I just finished taping all the intake bolt holes to clean them out so I get a good TQ Reading and I cleaned out the valley as best as I could get it

All thats left is to TQ the bolts holding down the lifters then put some gasket sealer on and then bolt it up! I'll share some pics inna bit

Make sure to use some RTV in the corners of the valley where the intake gaskets and rubber base gaskets meet. That areas prone to leaking.

Hm. Unless it's different for TBI, there should be two rubber seals that go on the front and back of the block.
