I have an 83 Camaro with a stock rear end. It does not have posi. So instead of buying a posi unit and new gears or a whole new rear end, I was thinking of buying aGM rear end locker. It is used mainly for dirt track racing buti've heard it would work fine on the street. Now this car is not my daily driver so im not worried about gas mileage. So my question is:: Would a GM rear end locker and some 3:73 gears work with my stock rear end. Any comments are welcome!!!

I think he means the rear end is mostly used for dirt track racing. It should work. If it were me, though, I'd go for the 4.10 gears and a selectable locker.

The rear end locker from gm only cost like $40 dollars, and I can 3:73 gears fairly cheap
on ebay. What is a selectable locker?
