Default Installing Radiator Question

I'm installing a new radiator on my 87 iroc Z28 5.7L and replacing the hoses,I need to know which Coolant brand is the best to use?. im hearing the orange "dexcool" coolant is the best and the green is not a good choice due to the metals used in the engine, radiator, etc. and the newer gasket materials. I would appreciate any answers thanks

You will hear various opinions on red vs green coolant. My own personal experience is: I have been using Dexcool since my engine swap in 2002 with no problems. In that time I did two coolant flushes.

i use green in everything i own-import, domestic, powersport, and heavy equipment. dexcool becomes acidic when mixed with oxygen, so it should be replaced every 2-3 years. toyota pink coolant has the exact same issue, and water pumps and head gaskets are failing with as little as 20k miles because it turns acidic.

also, what is in it now? if there is already green in it, definatly keep green. otherwise, have it flushed using a flush machine. you will have to drain and flush the heater core and pull the drain plugs in the block to get it all out. they do not intermix
